Standing on the crossroads of my life,I contemplate,
To what place have I been brought by fate,
After completing a phase of my life,
Have achieved a lot,after a continuous strife.
At this point,a conflict occurs, between my heart and mind,
The reason for me is difficult to find,
For my sentimental heart asks me to go back,
To the times of my childhood, when I played pranks.
For a moment I became nostalgic,
Remembering those lovely memories I stood static,
Tears rolled down my eyes,
I have come a long way,I realize,
Should I go back or move ahead,
Unable to decide,I stood there perplexed.
My mind at once made me strong,
‘He’ told me,it is where I am wrong,
Man has been sent by God,on this earth,
Not to spend his whole life, sitting idle, close to his hearth.
He has a purpose to serve before he sleeps,
The past memories are, though very deep,
But the future ahead,is also a beauty,
Our first aim is to accomplish our duty,
So there’s no use crying over, what is gone,
Be an optimist! And welcome ‘The Dawn’!!

Lovely expressions of our obsession with our childhood and our beautiful past and unknown fear of our uncertain future.

Yes, we are made to be active as well as reflective – nice poem.
I read this with my morning coffee as I contemplate this new day.
